You will develop and optimize welding processes and parameters for various materials and applications and create the appropriate technical documentation such as WPQR and WPS. Monitoring welding work and non-destructive testing (NDT: VT, VTE, PT, UT, RT) is just as much a part of your daily routine as training welders in the use of new processes and technologies.
You will carry out welder qualifications, document them in accordance with standards and ensure that all welding work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations, safety guidelines and standards such as ISO 3834-2 or EN 1090. You will also analyze welding processes, identify bottlenecks and implement measures to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
You will regularly check and renew welder certificates, monitor and document reference and production welds (incl. GMP-compliant WELD-LOGs), accompany internal and external audits and provide support in ensuring customer satisfaction. In addition, you will check welding requirements in project tenders, maintain welder deployment lists and analyze their daily reports. You will also contribute your expertise to the incoming goods inspection of welded constructions and assemblies.
In short: you are the central point of contact for all welding-related matters and ensure that quality, safety and efficiency are guaranteed at all times.
Your strengths

Completed technical training (Technical Academy, Technical College, University) in the field of mechanical engineering, materials technology or completed apprenticeship in a metalworking company or comparable qualification

Certification as a welding engineer (IWE), welding technologist (IWT) or welding specialist (IWS)

Professional experience of at least 3 years in an equivalent position and at least 2 years in the role of welding engineer

Comprehensive knowledge of various welding processes (MIG/MAG, TIG, manual arc welding, etc.)

Experience in the application of welding standards and guidelines (e.g. 3834-2, EN ISO 14731, EN ISO 14732, EN ISO 9606-1, etc.)

Knowledge in the application of the relevant product standards (e.g. EN 13480 series, AD 2000 data sheets, EN 1090-1 or -2, ASME BPE if applicable)

Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods (visual inspection, penetrant testing, radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing), preferably certified according to ISO 9712 (at least level 2)
